Further notes on the Fox 3 Shape: The Fox 3 shape produces a reed that has a wider tip and wider tube than the Fox 2 shape, thus playing notes on the lower range of the bassoon is easier and has a “warmer” and “darker” sound than reeds made from the Fox 2 Shape.
