Further notes on the Rieger 1A shape: The tube of the cane is slightly narrower than the Fox shapes and has a wider flare out onto the tip of the blade. The Rieger 1A shape is a great shape for bassoonists looking for an all-around balanced reed favoring the high register with easy response and intonation.
