Weber – Andante e Ungarese Rondo, Op. 35

Carl Maria von Weber, heralded as the father of musical romanticism and German romantic opera, wrote the original Andante e Ungarese Rondo in 1809 for his brother Fritz, a violist. At the request of the Munich court bassoonist, Georg Friedrich Brandt, Weber made an arrangement of the piece for bassoon in 1813. From a solo bassoon recital in Toronto, ON, I am joined alongside pianist, Rachael Kerr, playing Andate e Ungarese Rondo.
